Ugandan internet child star Teng Teng has publicly spoken out alongside his father, accusing his former manager of taking control of his YouTube channel and claiming ownership of it.
In an interview, the family revealed that the channel, which has more than 4 million subscribers and attracts millions of views from across the world, is allegedly generating much more money than what has been reported to them.
According to Teng Teng’s father, the former manager has only been declaring about USD 100, approximately UGX 360,000, as earnings from the platform.
The family says this amount does not match the popularity and global reach of the channel, raising concerns about possible underreporting of revenue.
The family is now seeking urgent help from authorities and relevant stakeholders to recover and regain full control of the YouTube account.
Teng Teng has become one of Uganda’s most recognized young online creators, gaining international attention through viral content and social media influence.
His popularity has grown beyond Uganda, with merchandise bearing his image reportedly being sold online.
The child star’s influence also attracted global social media recognition, including a customised Snapchat filter created using his face.
Recently, popular international streamer IShowSpeed collaborated with Teng Teng during his African tour, further cementing the young creator’s growing global profile.
However, the latest allegations have sparked concerns among supporters and online users, with some questioning whether there may have been elements of child exploitation within the management of the young star’s brand and digital platforms.
