Musician and Big Talent boss Eddy Kenzo has shared words of encouragement to artists often labeled as “one hit wonders,” urging them to stay consistent and never lose hope in their careers.
Speaking to the media recently, Kenzo admitted that he may not be the perfect person to fully understand the struggles of one hit wonders because he has been fortunate enough to produce many successful songs throughout his career. However, he emphasized that persistence is the key to success in the entertainment industry.
“Never give up. We have seen people, like we learn from the American entertainment industry and you can see someone make it at 50 years old so it’s kinda motivating and makes you think that not even the sky is the limit so I can’t say someone is a one hit wonder as long as they are still alive,” Kenzo explained.
The “Sitya Loss” hitmaker went on to encourage artists to believe that breakthroughs can happen unexpectedly at any stage of life or career.
To further drive his point home, Kenzo referenced the recent rise of the new Speaker of Uganda’s 12th Parliament, Jacob Oboth-Oboth, who replaced Anita Among.
Kenzo said Oboth-Oboth’s appointment shows how quickly life can change, noting that major opportunities often come when people least expect them.
“It’s even possible that call of his endorsement found him sleeping and he probably thought he’s dreaming but as we speak, he came to Kololo for swearing in with one car and left with 12 cars with a protocol of about 20 people, and that’s how quickly things can change. A breakthrough can come at anytime,” he added.
