At just 11 years old, Mwiza Santiana Nicolette is proving that age is no barrier to making a meaningful difference. The young philanthropist is touching lives across Uganda through the Nicolette Foundation, a charitable initiative founded by her mother, Doreen Nakalema, to support vulnerable children, widows, and disadvantaged families.
A pupil at Twinbrook International Uganda, Nicolette has become the face of the foundation’s outreach activities, dedicating her time to spreading kindness and hope. Through food donations, drinks, basic necessities, and community visits, the foundation continues to uplift families facing difficult circumstances while reminding them that they are not alone.

According to Nicolette, her passion for helping others was born from witnessing children and families struggle to access basic needs. Rather than standing by, she chose to become part of the solution.
Working alongside volunteers, well-wishers, and community partners, the Nicolette Foundation has reached vulnerable communities in different parts of Uganda. Beyond providing material support, the organization focuses on restoring hope, encouraging unity, and inspiring compassion among young people and adults alike.
For Nicolette, the greatest reward is seeing lives transformed “Seeing children smile, families feel supported, and people come together to help one another is my greatest achievement,” she says.
Despite its growing impact, the foundation continues to face financial challenges as the number of people seeking assistance increases. It depends on donations from individuals, organizations, volunteers, and well-wishers who believe in its mission of giving hope to the less privileged.

Looking ahead, the Nicolette Foundation plans to expand its reach by supporting more orphaned children and widows, promoting education, strengthening community outreach programs, and building partnerships that will enable it to serve even more people across Uganda.
Nicolette hopes her story will inspire fellow young people to use whatever they have to make a positive impact.
“You are never too young to make a difference. Kindness has the power to change lives, and every small act of love matters. Together, we can bring hope to those who need it most and build a future where no child or family feels forgotten,” she says.
