Sheebah Karungi Says Son’s First Day at School Healed a Childhood Wound

Sheebah Karungi has opened up about an emotional moment in her life as her son, Amir, officially started preschool.

The singer shared the milestone on social media, revealing that watching her son begin school brought a mix of excitement and deep emotion, especially because of the role his father, Jaffar Suleiman, played on the big day.

According to Sheebah, Amir’s father extended his flight so that he could be present for his son’s first day of school. She said watching him personally take Amir and his sisters to school touched her deeply and reminded her of the kind of fatherly presence she did not experience while growing up.

There are some things that heal you in ways you can’t explain. As a girl who grew up without a father or a father figure, watching my son have a father who genuinely loves being a dad, shows up, and enjoys fatherhood so effortlessly… heals something in me,” Sheebah said.

She expressed gratitude to God for blessing her beyond what she had imagined, describing her son’s first day at preschool as a particularly emotional experience.

Sheebah and Jaffar Suleiman are the parents of Amir, and the singer said she will share more about the experience on her show, Let’s Talk About It.
