Diamond Platnumz continues to lead on YouTube in Africa

In order to maintain his place in the African music industry, Diamond Platnumz has continued to expand.

The musician, whose hit song “Komasava” is already making waves in continental Europe, has broken another milestone by being the first individual to reach 9 million YouTube subscribers while living below the Sahara.

The WCB Wasafi label, which Diamond owns, celebrated him reaching the 9 million mark last weekend.

Diamond has the most followers in the sub-Saharan region with 9 million, followed by Rayvanny (5.11 million), Burna Boy (4.85 million) from Nigeria, Harmonize (4.56 million), and Fally Ipupa (4.24 million) from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, who completes the top five.

Others include Grammy Award winner from South Africa, Tyla, who is ranked ninth with 3.9 million followers, and Mr. Flavor from Nigeria, who completes the top ten with 3.36 million followers. Rema, Davido, and Ckay are all from Nigeria and have 4.18 million, 4.02, and 4.02 million followers, respectively.

Diamond tops the Tanzanian list with 9 million followers, followed by Rayvanny and Harmonize, then Zuchu with 3.32 million, Mbosso with 2.74 million, Alikiba with 1.87 million, Lavalava with 1.43 million, Nandy with 1.41 million, Marioo with 1.33 million, Rose Muhando (the only gospel artist in the top ten) with 1.24 million followers.
