Singer Maro has revealed that a fellow Ugandan rapper once turned down his request to collaborate on the remix of his hit song Anjagala.
Speaking during a recent interview on Record FM, Maro disclosed that he reached out to an unnamed rapper at a time when the original version of Anjagala was performing exceptionally well on the airwaves.
According to Maro, he personally approached the rapper, explained his intentions and expressed his desire to have him feature on the remix. The rapper asked him to send over the song, but that was reportedly the last communication they had.
“I reached out to him, explained myself and my intentions. He then asked me to send him the song and that’s the last time we ever talked,” Maro narrated.
Although he did not reveal the rapper’s identity, Maro eventually moved on and found another collaborator for the project.
He went on to release the Anjagala remix with rapper Feffe Busi, and the collaboration went on to perform extremely well, giving the song another lease of life and further cementing its success among music fans.
Despite the initial setback, the eventual collaboration with Feffe Busi proved that sometimes a missed opportunity can lead to an even more successful outcome.
